ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The Royal Oak Community Association acknowledges that the community of Royal Oak lies within the territories of the ləkʷəŋən peoples represented by the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples represented by the Tsartlip, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum and Malahat Nations.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to have a community that benefits from well-conceived enhancements that contribute to an inviting, safe, inclusive and environmentally healthy community. Our aim is that residents will benefit from a high quality of life, work and recreation.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to evaluate land use proposals, engage with the community, and provide the role of a key spokesperson on behalf of the community with the District of Saanich.
OUR MANDATE
To provide a venue for grassroots dialogue on matters of land use and other associated matters of current interest to the local community.
To enhance our sense of neighbourliness by facilitating a strong and healthy community spirit, including communication and collaboration.
To raise awareness of land use and other associated happenings that impact the community, and to encourage member and community input on local planning initiatives.
To inform the membership about land use initiatives and events of community interest via e-mail, general Member meetings, community forums and our website.
To inform the District of Saanich of Member and community input received in a fair and impartial manner.
To recognize and/or support Royal Oak residents, volunteers and not-for-profit organizations that have a noteworthy positive impact on our community, where appropriate.
